Configure R7000 as a switch

I searched but can't find the answer. I'm getting new routers that will make my R7000 potentially useful as a switch (not an AP, not bridge mode). How can I configure it as a switch? I'd like to ensure I don't have to factory reset too many times if possible. Can I put it in bridge mode and turn off radios, and retain ethernet port switching? Any guidance or links would be helpful. Thanks.

Re: Configure R7000 as a switch

Put it into AP mode. It will function as an Ethernet switch + WAP. If you don't need the WAP, then disable Wi-Fi. You can push the physical Wi-Fi button for about 2 seconds to turn them off.

A nearly equivalent method is to disable the DHCP server. Unlike AP mode, the WAN/Internet port won't be usable, so you'll be left with 3 usable ports instead of 4. You will also have to manually configure an unused IP address in the subnet of your new router. AP mode has the option to dynamically obtain an IP address, or you can manually configure one, as well.

Thanks for the thorough reply. I'll give it a try in a few days.
