Considering R8000 vs R7000p. Which is better?

I’m having a hard time trying to figure out all the differences in the models. I need long range as a must. 3500 sqft with the modem in the basement. I think it comes down to triband vs MU-MIMO and I don’t know which is more beneficial. The circle with Disney compatibility is also limiting. Any help is appreciated.

Both routers support Circle, so if this is a pre-req both have you covered.

The R8000 is true tri-band and utilizes a Broadcom chipset.  Pros are triband performance(twin 5Ghz radios), cons are compatibiity issues with some wireless devices and runs hotter than some other routers.

R7000P - Dual band, Some devices can benefit from the Broadcom's tri-band capabilities.  Older devices might not, and will do better with the older standard.

I personally would go with a R7800 x4s (AC2600).  Second choice would be the R7000P

There are hundreds of sites like this comparing the two.

Comparison

Price difference between the 7000p and 7800 is about $45

I have tried both, but the R7800 is my preference.

The R7000P will support Armor, if that is your thing. (The R7800 may also get it at some stage.) But in my experience then R7800 is more robust.

Just another user.

My network DM200 -> R7800 -> GS316 -> PL1000 -> Orbi RBR40 -> Orbi RBS50Y -> RBS40V
