D7000v2 wifi issues with desktop and laptop computer
I can connect via the wifi to my Brother printer, Android and Apple devices and even the Bose soundbar but I am unable to connect my HP desktop or ASUS laptop computers. I get the message that I am unable to connect to the network yet if I use a ethernet cable its fine. Is this an issue with my modem or the computers.

Given that other things work, the computers are worth investigating. Are you connecting them with wifi or LAN? Here I can happily connect both wifi and LAN at the same time.
You don't say which operating system you run, but if it is Windows, especially Windows 10, then the first thing to do is to run the network troubleshooter. It may be something as simple as setting the network connection as private. Or you might have to update the drivers for your network card. On which, what is it?

Re: D7000v2 wifi issues with desktop and laptop computer
Its Windows 10 on both computers. I tried setting the network to private once but that didn't work. Maybe I did it wrong...
I can't run the troubleshooter on wifi as it says there is no network selected and running it on the LAN doesn't pick up any trouble. A friend tried to walk me through rolling back the network adapters but that didn't work either.

Is that done on the computer or router manager over the net? I'm not tech savvy at all so I wouldn't even know where to look for the interface. sorry... happy to give it a go though.

You need to disable the LAN port in the Windows 10 Network Settings.
Is that a modem thing? Or something specific to the D7000v2.
I have any number of LAN ports enabled, for various reasons. I also have both LAN and wifi active, and connected, with no apparent harm.
Puzzling. But that is an R7800 behind a D6400.
