DM200 modem with nighthawk R7000

Just bought a Netgear DM200 modem and nighthawk R7000 router.  Internet is working fine through the modem in modem+router device mode and still connects to the internet in modem only mode, but will not access any internet webpages.  i.e the modem states there is internet but there isn't.  This results in an amber internet light on the nighthawl R7000 router

   Ok.

"Connects to the ISP" and "connects to the Internet" are two
different things.  In modem-only mode, the former is all that the DM200
can do.

An "I'm happy" LED indication on the DM200 may mean different things
in different device modes.

"will not access" is not a useful problem description.  It does not
say what you did.  It does not say what happened when you did it.  As
usual, showing actual actions with their actual results (error messages,
LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague descriptions or
interpretations.

_That_ is where we know that there's no Internet connection.

When you switch a modem+router to modem-only mode, then you may need
to configure the (new) router to handle some tasks which had been done
by the router part of the original modem+router.  One example of this
would be dealing with PPPoE credentials.  If your ISP uses PPPoE
authentication, and the DM200 was handling it, then the R7000 would need
to be doing it now, because, in modem-only mode, the DM200 can't do it.

If you don't already have the User Manuals for these devices, then
visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model numbers, and look
for Documentation.  Get the User Manual(s).  In the R7000 User Manual,
there's a section on "Specify an Internet Connection That Uses a Login"
which might apply in your case.

If that's not it, then some information on how you configured the
DM200 originally might help.

Re: DM200 modem with nighthawk R7000

There is a manual for the DM200 somewhere at the end of this link:

>>> DM200 | Product | Support | NETGEAR <<<

See the note on page 13:

"If you connect the modem to a router or WiFi router instead of directly to a computer, you can change the device mode of the modem."

That takes you to page 69.

Just another user.
