Device download speed not displayed

None of my attached devices show download speed, only upload but I'm testing by streaming on all devices.

It's like Up and Down are the wrong way round, anyone else have this problem?2017-05-07 07.56.08.png

Re: Device download speed not displayed

Just as an update to this, I believed my router to be faulty so swapped it at the store today for a new one.

I was happy to see figures in both Upload and Download for connected devices but, after an hour or so it's doing exactly the same thing.

Anyone? I'm going mad here...R7000 Upload Only.JPG

Re: Device download speed not displayed

Hi beaverHausen,

What is the firmware version of the router? Make sure it is updated.

What web browser did you use? Try using a different browser.

Re: Device download speed not displayed

Hi

It's the latest firmware as shown in the photo.

Have tried different browsers with no result.

I have restored a backup config which is now working.

The backup was created before enabling traffic meter and remote access so I feel that one of these features somehow affects the device download display?

I've not turned either back on as I'm glad to have the info shown correctly.

Thanks for the iput though.

Hi beaverHausen,

Can you try to enable the traffic meter and remote access and see if it will still work.

Re: Device download speed not displayed

Hi

I enabled traffic monitor and set the monthly download limit that I receive from my ISP which is 750gb

After the router came back up, the devices in the attached devices list would only show a red bar in the upload and nothing in the download.

This is with devices streaming.

Re: Device download speed not displayed

I have been doing further testing.

With Traffic monitor disabled, attached devices seem to display upload and download data correctly.

With Traffic monitor enabled, only the upload speed shows a red bar, this is with devices streamin/downloading data.

And now, when I turn Traffic monitor off, I get duplicates of my devices.

Any advice?

Re: Device download speed not displayed

Interesting.

I'm on an R7000 and my display doesn't look ANYTHING like yours does? No speed shown, no choice of icon for the device?

I do see your language is AUTO, but mine is English.

I switched to Auto and then checked again, still do not have the same (yes, I'm on the newer flash, but I've never seen what you see?

Will take some time for my screen capture below to appear.

Re: Device download speed not displayed

I have the same issue.  I barely get any of my devices to show any activity.  Only had this router like 2 weeks.

Re: Device download speed not displayed

Yeah it's annoying.

Went through some diagnostics with a netgear techie. They were unable to replicate my issue even with my config file that I sent over.

They offered to replace the unit but at a cost to me for P&P

Didn't have much faith that that would resolve the issue, just hoping a future firmware update will resolve.

Re: Device download speed not displayed

Having the exact same problem. Only difference is that turning remote management and traffic control off does not solve the problem.

Any ideas or fixes??

Re: Device download speed not displayed

I'm having the exact same problem: upload speeds by device are showing but download speeds by device are all at zero. The meter at the top showing overall upload and download speed both show figures.

I've tried toggling 'Traffic monitoring' but it doesn't fix the problem. Remote monitoring is not set.

Re: Device download speed not displayed

I downloaded a more recent firmware V1.0.9.32_10.2.34 hoping it would fix it but it just introduced a new problem, now I can't name my devices or give them an icon.

I don't think anyone at NetGear is doing anything about it

Re: Device download speed not displayed

Thought I'd add a bit more in case it helps anyone.

If I enable Traffic Meter from Advanced setup then it seems to have a problem in displaying live upload/download in attached devices, if I turn it off then I get information. See pic..

I'm still unable now to give my devices a meaningful name and/or icon, think I'll start looking for a different router this is really hacking me off...
