Disconnect every couple of hours when using LAN cable

When I use LAN cable, I lose connection every couple of hours and reconnect right away.

I play a lot online games, so I got disconnected from game a lot, which is really annoying. 

I don't expericence such issue when using WIFI. Only happens when I using LAN cable.

It never happened before when I use my old router. And I changed my LAN cable but it sitll happens.

Therefore, I can confrim it is caused by the router. Please advice if there is a solution.

what modem are you using? 

What firmware is on the router? 

what gaming system are you using? 

Have you tried different ports on the router? 

Is there anything in between the router and the device (like a switch)?

Modem: LINKSYS DPC3008

Firmware: the lastest version V1.3.1.64_10.1.36

Game system: happened to both PC windows 10 and PS4

I tried different ports and difference cable.

There is nothing between them, no switch.

try installing firmware version 1.3.2.124 of the firmware over a hardwired connection. then factory reset the router and reinstall it. Don't use a backup. 

If that doesn't work, then I'd try hardwiring a pc/ps4 into the modem directly and seeing it if drops.

I tried you method but still have the issue. 

I will try hardwiring into modem dircetly and let you know.
