Drop outs and bad wifi or slow

Hi

So i am getting dropouts all the time and thought it was my internet supplier (Optus) but they have confirmed they are good to the modem.  I have installed latest firmware and no change.  We will have great speeds and then it just stops for both wifi and ethernet however all lights on.

I am wondering if there is anyway to stop this happening in the settings or if i need to change MTU or packages.

Any help would be great

What firmware version do you have on the device?

A number is more useful than "the latest". (It may not be by the time people read this.) There can also be newer versions, or "hot fixes", that do not show up if you check for new firmware in the browser interface.

Just another user.

You might want to take this to the proper forum, https://community.netgear.com/t5/DSL-Modems-Routers/bd-p/home-dsl-modems-routers, somone there might be able to assist you better. This is a true router only forum.

I thought only the ISP could upgrade the firmware on modem/routers as well? Surprised you can?

Waste of time and effort.  The same people would find it there. too.
You might _find_ better information lying around there, however.

Really?  Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in a Dxxxx model
number, and look for Downloads.  (For older versions, under Firmware and
Software Downloads, look for "View Previous Versions".)  Find the
kit(s).  Download the kit(s) you want.  Read the "Release Notes" file
for instructions.

Repeat for Cxxxx or CMxxx.  A DOCSIS (cable-TV) modem(+router) is
restricted, not a DSL modem(+router).
