EX8000

Hola

Re: EX8000

You can log into the extender using its assigned ip address and check its backhaul connection to the router.

also, what router is it connecting to?

did you set it up using wps or using the installation assistant?

There's a support site with access to manuals, firmware, install guides, etc.
Go to https://www.netgear.com/support/
Type in your model number and from there it'll take you to the above.
Its a great resource to start with.

Re: EX8000

also, you might get better help in the extenders forum versus the router forum.

Re: EX8000

Re: EX8000

What mitrastar router?

What does the wefi settings show for backhaul when it goes down?

Re: EX8000

From what I could find on that router is that is a pretty basic single band router.

meaning its 2.4ghz only.

2.4ghz is a slow network and sensitive to interference. The whole point of the EX8000 is its dedicated 5ghz backhaul.

that might explain your issue as well as why your wireless is poor on that router.

What I'd try?

Hardwire the EX8000 to the moviestar. Setup the EX8000 in Access point mode.

Disable the wifi on the movie star. Just use the wireless on the EX8000 with it hardwired in.

It has a much faster wifi capability and coverage and it'll do a much better job providing wifi.

Re: EX8000

moviestar=mitrastar

For some reason had moviestar in my head and not mitrastar. I did look up the correct router 🙂
