Re: Ethernet & WiFi SSID
the ethernet name is set by windows (if you're on windows).
You can change it but it requires a registry edit.

Re: Ethernet & WiFi SSID
This for the router and not the adapter. I repeat this is for a Netgear R7000 Nighthawk Router.

Re: Ethernet & WiFi SSID
I understand you have an R7000.
But the network name through the ethernet interface is set by windows, not by the router.
the router only sets the ssid name.

Re: Ethernet & WiFi SSID
Ok, so this shouldn't be affecting my Internet connection with Xfinity/Comcase. My connect with my ISP goes down once every 24 hours it seems like. I don't my connection can go more than 72 hours before dropping.

Re: Ethernet & WiFi SSID
so your actual problem isn't what you listed for what you wanted.
You put your internet connection is dropping.
1. What gateway do you have?
2. what firmware is on the router?
3. do wired devices and wireless drop or just wireless/wired?
4. what fixes the issue
5. Next time, go over the full issue if you're having a problem. Not just what you think the issue is. Otherwise we go back and forth wasting time just to find out that wasn't the actual issue.
