Hey, we just switched ISP and we bought a neatgear modem and a neat gear router for upstairs.
Im downstairs on my on router r7000 setup to AP mode.
I thought I would just reset the router and set it up for AP mode again.
Netgear genie says "no ethernet cable is pluuged into the router internet port"
And windows troubleshoot says "Ethernet doesnt have a valid ip configuration"
My IP address is set to auto detect.
Id appreciate some help guys, thanks.

Re: Ethernet doesn't have a valid ip configuration.
If your setting up AP mode on the R7000 router, then you need to have one LAN cable from the main host router connected to one of the LAN ports in back, not the Internet or WAN port. Then connect a wired PC to one of the other LAN ports in back or connect the PC to the main host router and review the routers connected clients table to see what IP address the R7000 gets from the router. Use this IP address to log in to the R7000 to configure additional settings after it's in AP mode. The WAN or Internet port is not used in this mode.
