Extending my Nighthawk R7000P range
I'm currently usign the Nighthawk R7000P and I need to extend the range to cover my entire home inlcuding my basement. I'd like to go to a WiFi Mesh if possible. I'd rather not scrap my Nighthawk router but will if that makes the most sense. What are my best options? I do have an ethernet cable available to help cover the basement, but the router is still lacking in other parts of the home as well. Can I add some satellites to my R7000P or is it best to scrap it and go to an Orbi system?

Re: Extending my Nighthawk R7000P range
It depends.
How big is your home?
what are the interior walls made of?
do you think you'll need more than 1 extender?
If so, I'd skip the headache of extenders and go with a triband mesh setup.
If you think 1 extender would cover fine, then a triband extender would be ideal.

You cannot add satellites if you want a Mesh system, but you can do what I do which is to use the R7000P in front of an Orbi router in access point mode.
I keep my router (an R7800 in my case) because it is more capable as a router than the Orbi, which is better on the wifi front.
Just another user.
My network DM200 -> R7800 -> GS316 -> PL1000 -> Orbi RBR40 -> Orbi RBS50Y -> RBS40V
