FIOS Quantum Gateway + Orbi + Nighthawk R9000

I'm thinking about getting the FlashRouter Nighthawk R9000 to use as a dedicated VPN router.  I currently have an Orbi (router & satellite) connected to a Fios Quantum Gateway.  Can I use the Nighthawk with the Orbi?  Will this impact performance?

I want to route some devices through a VPN (NordVPN Service) but not all.  I need the Orbi satellite to boost the WiFi signal since the router is in the basement.  We have the satellite connected via ethernet to the orbi router on the 1st floor to help with WiFi on the 2nd floor.  We have 16+ devices that connected at any given time.  If I can use both, what is the best set up?

yes you can use the nighthawk with orbi its suggested to set it to AP mode or connect the orbi to the nighthawk and then put the orbi in ap mode.
