Does router AC1200/R6120 contain firewall to protect network from common hacker's attacks PoD and DoS ?
Technical specifications do not cover that?
You actually asked 2 questions... Firewall yes, protect you from attacks, well that one I don't think there is an answer?
Why? For a few reason's:
- Those type of attacks are rarely run on single network setups that are residential, mainly commercial entities.
- The Firewall is part of the firmware. It is NOT documented what it actually does. As it is built-in as part of the Firewall it would be susceptable to Zero-Day attacks until the Firmware were updated to cover it.
- How would you know if you were attacked (other than the obvious slowdowns)?
Don't look in the LOG for that confirmation either or that you were attacked. Netgear routers are NOTORIUS for logging such attacks and it seems ALL are FALSE POSITIVES... Google any attack and you'll see most if not all are reported on Netgear router log entries.
