Firmware V1.0.0.110_1.0.70

Last night my R8000 told me there was an updated firmware available for download and install, Firmware V1.0.0.110_1.0.70. However, there were no release notes for the updated firmware available anywhere on Netgear's website, and still aren't at the time of this post. It would be nice to see some information about this firmware update, what was fixed, or changed, what features added, etc. Hope fully someone from Netgear will post that information soon please?

    Re: Firmware V1.0.0.110_1.0.70

Judging by the release notes, it is basically the same features from the last firmware PLUS the new features from the betas.

Only new thing I see on there is the China and Canada wireless regions now getting support.

Correct me if I am wrong though

    Re: Firmware V1.0.0.110_1.0.70

aublumberg, When you go to support.netgear.com, search under your router (in this case R8000), it is NOT listed there at all by Netgear. It only comes up when logged into the router itself. It isn't listed anywhere on the netgear.com site where anyone would normally go look. That was why I asked if anyone had the release notes. And they still have not posted the updated firmware and release notes there yet, 48 hours it was released.

    Re: Firmware V1.0.0.110_1.0.70

Installed FW update thru Netgear GUI. Install went smoothly and all my personal configs. were intact. Since 8PM last night, with some minot testing og wired and wireless devices, the router and devices are running smoothly and slow downs in the network. Will continue to monitor and report later.

Still need to test Xbox1 with COD Advanced Warfare later tonight.Smiley Very Happy

    Re: Firmware V1.0.0.110_1.0.70

Richard1864, Netgear is horrible about keeping the update FTP server and the support downloads pages synced. I have seen it take up to 4 months before new firmware is on the support download pages since it has been officially released and on the FTP server devices pull from.

    Re: Firmware V1.0.0.110_1.0.70

Richard1864, Yep, the website is typically delayed by a couple days, even weeks. That's quite common. If you don't want to download it from the FTP server, you can of course wait for the website to be updated ...

    Re: Firmware V1.0.0.110_1.0.70

Richard1864, After reading through the forums and personal experience its mostly an advance release of the firmware. I'm pretty sure they will have the notes up soon.

    Re: Firmware V1.0.0.110_1.0.70

The one thing I noticed immediately with the new Firmware is that the 20/40 MHz coexistence setting now has 40 MHz defaulted for the 2.4GHz wireless band, instead of the original 20 MHz that was defaulted on this setting. Pretty interesting to say the least CONSIDERING "wifi certification" says that 20 MHz should be the default for 2.4GHz wireless connections

    Re: Firmware V1.0.0.110_1.0.70

So I had a chance to play some COD Advanced Warfare on the XBOX1, using the 5GHZ wireless. Game play was great and no lag and full bars.
The xbox is located on the 1st floor of the house and the router on the 2nd floor with at least 3 wall and a stairwell. The wireless has been working well on both 2.4 & 5ghz. My time Warner speed is 100MBPS down and 10MBPS up. Time Warner just gave us additional UP bandwidth and soon more on the down.Smiley Very Happy

    Re: Firmware V1.0.0.110_1.0.70

I wonder why no one has stickied this thread yet since this is the current firmware that is out. I understand why the betas get the sticky treatment, but this official firmware seems to contain all of the features of the latest betas already.

    Just saying

So it has been close to a month since this thing was officially release, how does this FW compare to the last 2 beta firmwares?
