GS308 Problem with HP Laser Printer

Dear all,

I have the switch with a PC and an HP laser printer connected to it. The switch is connected to an EERO mesh wifi network. The reason forthe switch is that the EERo has only one spare ethernet port.

The problem is that the PC will not print to the printer via the Netgear switch. Other computers on the overall network will print to the printer quite happily. Also the PC connected to the switch will print to the printer if it is connected directly to the printer. Does anyone have any ideas please? Is there any way of getting support from Netgear without having to take out a suppport subscription for one trivial problem? EERO support is brilliant they answer the phone in a minute and you are straight through to someone who knows what they are doing. Thanks in advance,

Andrew

There's something wrong with your settings, then. That switch model is unmanaged and passes everything through. It does not block anything

There are no settings to change on an "unmanaged switch", and the
non-psychics in your audience know very little about the rest of your
situation.

"not" is not a very detailed description of what happens.  As usual,
showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results (error
messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
descriptions or interpretations.

What are the IP addresses of all these gizmos?  What, exactly, is
connected to what, exactly?

What, exactly, does "connected directly to the printer" mean to you?
USB?  If you've installed the printer on that PC with a (private) USB
connection, and then you disconnect the USB cable, and connect the
printer to the network, then I would not expect that PC to figure out
where the printer went.  If you haven't told Windows on that PC about
the network-connected printer, then you might want to try that.
