Genie took over routerlogin.net?!

FRIDAY MARCH 30TH,2018

I woke up only to discover my electronic devices disconnected from the Internet

It turns out that Netgear Genie has replaced login to www.routerlogin.net

What happened?

I already thought routerlogin.net functions were too simple. But Netgear Genie is so simple, a 2 year old can understand it.

Why the change?

Where's my port forwarding options?

How can I be certain about router security, when www.routerlogin.net never had HTTPS in the first place?

Is this for real? Or am I hacked?

That is not a useful problem description.  It does not say what
you did.  It does not say what happened when you did it.  As usual,
showing actual actions with their actual results (error messages, LED
indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague descriptions or
interpretations.

You were there.  You tell us.  With my weak psychic powers, I have no
idea what you did or what you saw.

   Why _what_ change?

Define "router security".  If you connect power and one computer (and
nothing else) to your router, then you can be pretty sure that you're
talking to your router.

   Is _what_ for real?

You'd do everyone a favor if you reported on actual events, and
avoided reporting only your analysis of them.  A precise, accurate
description of what actually happened would be much more helpul than
what you think it all means.
