Great speed... for one day
I installed my Nighthawk router, and the speeds were great. I have 30Meg coming into the house, and I was getting 25-26Meg in my upstairs office. The signal is about 75' away, around two walls and up the stairs. I was impressed. But, after about one day the speed dropped to 2megs.
I had experienced this already. I bought a Netgear (6350?) router, and had this exact problem. I returned it because I was only getting around 15Meg speeds with it to begin with, and I have that with my powerline setup already. The salesman said the Nighthawk had better range, and assured me I would see 25Meg speeds. He was correct. But the Nighthawk dropped to 2Meg speed after a day, just like the 6350 did.
Any suggestions as to what may be causing this speed drop? I may as well take the Nighthawk back and go back to my old Cisco router.

Re: Great speed... for one day
Considerably R7000 has better performance in general but 75ft are good distance away and even beam forming that helps the signal I would say you are making difficult is possibility
Broadband speed of 30Mps will be easily attain fine with any of Rxxx family since that is WAN speed .
I would suggest to place additional AP in the area you need to cover.

Re: Great speed... for one day
That does not explain why both routers gave me good speeds, but then after a day the speeds dropped drastically.
