HTTPS music streaming on the Internet

Currently on the latest FW (V1.0.2.194_1.0.15). Still having issues streaming .flac music from the router's HTTP(S) server (Apache I believe ("httpd -S -E ...")). The R7000's Apache server is, in one word, very flimsy: it crashes very easily when doing https streaming of my attached .flac collection. Sometimes it works fine for hours, but other times it just crashes after streaming a few tunes. C'mon, is this too much to expect from R7000? Is it really incapable to withstand the streaming of uncompressed or slightly compressed audio? If audio is an issue, think what video streaming might do to it! Alright, it may be argued that R7000 hasn't really been built for video streaming on the Internet, but I just do not want to believe that audio streaming from an attached HDD poses an unreasonable challenge!

Re: HTTPS music streaming on the Internet

Just for the heck of it, I installed an HTTP(S) web server on my old Logitech Revue, and connected it to my R7000 router so that the server is available on the Internet. No matter how much streaming pressure I'd put on it it just doesn't crash, whereas R7000's web server crashes under the slightest of loads--a complete nightmare! How can the R7000 web server be that flimsy? Is that a known issue? Or is that an R7000 "feature"?Smiley Very Happy

Re: HTTPS music streaming on the Internet

Happy to report that under FW 1.0.3.24 the HTTPS server is more stable.
