Have a Gigabit Network Card Still Amber light

I have an Asus G53JW which I believe has a gigabit network card.

I still only get an amber light when plugged into the router.

Ideas as to why this is?

Thanks!

Re: Have a Gigabit Network Card Still Amber light

Try update the driver for the NIC

If still the same try to force the NIC to got 1000Base-T/Full Duplex instead to Auto Negotiation under network updater setting on PC side

Try another cable too.

Re: Have a Gigabit Network Card Still Amber light

Trying to hard set speed/duplex might causes more issues, honestly.

Autonegotiation is part of the 1000bTX standard.

Update NIC drivers, try a different cable, both good suggestions.

Should have tried the simplest first.

Tried factory reset, NIC driver update, and finally it was the cable.

Thanks!
