How to connect to a ReadyNAS nv+ from outside my network

How do I connect to my ReadyNAS through my router. The router has ready share and is only sharing the external USB drive connected. In the settings you only have ready share, printer share and ready vault. Ready cloud only takes Firmware over 6.1 but the nv+ is 4.1.16. Firmware. I just want to connect to this nas from outside my network. Please help.

Since you have a nighthawk router, the simplest way is to use openvpn.  The openvpn app is free for iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac. That would give you full access to your home network (including the NAS) when you are away from home.
