How to get updates for my Netgear?
Can I still get updates to my old NetgearC7000-100NAS? Currently running v1.01.15. If I can, how do I accomplish this? I have Genie on my desktop but I don't see any way to update from there. When I go to the Netgear website I get sent to Neverever land.
Thanks in advance!
You can't.
firmware updates on modem/router combo devices come from the ISP as part of their partitioning for your service.
If they didn't update it in their partitioning, theres not much an end user can do other than point the ISP at the latest?
(which they rarely do anything about because it costs the ISP $ to certify)

I can get firmware updates from Dell Computer but not from Netgear? That sucks!

Does Dell make modems? All I can see is third party devices, mostly Netgear.
It is the ISP that blocks firmware updates from hardware makers.

Make that CABLE modem/routers.
You can update DSL modem/routers.
I add this for completeness and to allay the fears of anyone who turns up here with a DSL modem.
