1. What router do you have?
2. firmware on that router?
3. What modem/gateway is it connected to?
4. where is it failing in the process (with details)?
since we aren't there to see what you're doing or whats going wrong, we need a detailed descreption to help.
One other thing you can try, if you just bought it, support is free from the first 90 days of purchase (if new). You could contact for support for help with install.

type in your model number. From there it takes you to guides, manuals, video walks throughs. Its very beneficial for new installs.
