If cycling power or pressing the Reset button for many seconds
doesn't help, then you may be a candidate for the TFTP recovery scheme.
See, for example:

"update" how, exactly?  Recurring stories like this have persuaded
many people that manually loading firmware over an Ethernet (wired)
connection is more reliable than any automatic or wireless method.  If
you can get it working again, the manual procedure follows:

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Downloads.  (For older versions, under Firmware and Software
Downloads, look for "View Previous Versions".)  Find the kit(s).
Download the kit(s) you want.  Read the "Release Notes" file for
instructions.  (In the User Manual, look for "firmware", and,
especially, for a topic like "Manually Upload Firmware to the Router".)

When that fails because of a deficient User Manual, try:

Thanks for your analysis, but it's wrong.

"these"?  Normal access to the router's management web site
("routerlogin.net", or its LAN IP address) won't work because the router
is not working properly.  This has nothing to do with Internet access.
Normally, "routerlogin.net" would point to your own router, and you
don't need Internet access to talk to your own router.

If a working Internet connection were needed to configure a router,
then there'd be a serious chicken-egg problem affecting the vast
majority of Internet users.

If you read the instructions, you might notice that the TFTP recovery
procedure doesn't require a working router, either.  If it did, then it
would be useless.  Its whole reason-to-exist is recovery of a
non-working router.

FYI: "cant" and "wont" are words, different from "can't" and "won't".
("isnt" is just plain wrong.)
