Incompatible PC?

Netgear PLP1000 Powerline Adapter 1000Mbps - Pack of 2

I am so sorry if this question has already been asked but I am trying (in vain) to find out if my PC is compatible with the Powerline. I just recently upgraded to 500 mbps and was using a different make of powerline but it was only made for 100mbps so I bought the NETGEAR 1000 after it was recommended by a friend. My net is still not going above 70mbps.. I have been searching for hours and there is so much conflicting information. So now I'm not sure if my PC is just rubbish...
