Incorrect MAC Addresses being shown on Netgear R7800 router
Hi I have noticed connected devices to my wifi network (Mac addresses of each device) don't display the same MAC address when viewing on the "Access Control" page within Router Administration pro...

A Web search for terms like, say:
wireless extender spoof mac address
might be educational.

Define "real".

Everything's complicated.

I have just been setting up a Netgear RAX80 router, and when I look at Attached Devices, the MAC addresses are all wrong. I want to force specific IP addresses for various devices - which MAC address should I use? The correct ones or Netgear's weird ones??
For the avoidance of doubt, my definition of "correct" is the MAC address shown in the device, which also displays correctly on my Netgear R7800 at a different location.

Ok. Are you using a wireless extender as was the fellow who opened
this thread? Are you using an Apple iOS device? Why did you join this
thread instead of starting your own?> [...] the MAC addresses are all wrong. [...]
I can't see them from here. Which kind of "all wrong"? Wired or
wireless devices? Always the same MAC address for a particular device
on a particular router?> [...] I want to force specific IP addresses for various devices -

Apple's "private Wi-Fi address" feature is specific to "each Wi-Fi
network." Without more information than "I'm unhappy", it's tough to
guess what's causing what you (only) are seeing.- JuanHerreroFeb 04, 2021Tutor
It would be useful if someone helpful could reply, not someone (purporting to be a guru!) who just wishes to pick at the content of a question to prove how clever he/she is.

purport nothing. Also helpful would be starting your own thread for your own problem,
and including some useful information in it. In any case, answering
those pesky questions would be more helpful than all the indignation you
can muster.Appending your query to a thread which has been marked "Solved!"
might not be the best way to attract the attention of other
participants. Unless, that is, you're depending on psychics. I suppose
that if they're good enough to find your information-free problem
description, then they might not need more information from you.
