Installing nighthawk ac1750 behind att 2wire uverse 3801 router

My wireless with the 2wire is really poor so I want to install my nighthawk behind my router. Has anyone experience with doing this?

If you want to continue using the 2wire as a router, then try the option of setting up the R7500 as an access point. Page 135 of the manual http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/R7500/R7500_UM_04Nov2014.pdf

I have been running an R7000 as an access point for well over a year without any issues at all.
