Hello,
I have just bought the router and am having the following problems.
Preamble:
Connected to Laptop via Wireless and Ethernet. Have DHCP assigned IP address.
I can ping 192.168.1.1 no problem
Not connected to any other networks.
Have Installed Genie.
Problem:
Unable to open site: www.routerlogin.net
Unable to open site with ip address of 192.168.1.1
I have tried both Win 7 and Win 10
Genie version 2.4.20
Latest version of Genie cannot access router settings
States "Netgear router is not found or supported... blah blah"
I have tried both Win 7 and Win 10
What do I do now?? How can I enter and configure router??
Thank you!

Re: Just bought R8000 Triband. Cannot Configure.
Dump Genie.
Use a wired connection to lan port, press and hold reset until power led flashes and follow directions. Or read the manual and follow those directions.

Also uninstall Genie because it can cause all sorts of problems.

Re: Just bought R8000 Triband. Cannot Configure.
I am having sort of the same issue. However, I can only administer the router via wireless. None of the wired machines can access the router to administer it. All the wired machines have no issue attaching to the internet, they just can't administer the router. Which is annoying, because if I need to make a change, I will have to drag out my laptop to do any administration. I just got my router today, so I have logged a ticket with Netgear. I hope they will have an answer for this. I was never able to configure the router via a wired connection from the time I plugged it in.

Re: Just bought R8000 Triband. Cannot Configure.
I have narrowed it down to the way my machine us configured... something to do with security settings or antivirus/firewall.
I have been able to get to the config site from another totally non secured pc...

Re: Just bought R8000 Triband. Cannot Configure.
Why did you ask? Have you come across Kaspersky interfering with config issues before?
