Looking to buy the AC4000 Nighthawk® X6S Tri-Band WiFi Router with MU-MIMO

I'm looking to buy the

AC4000

Nighthawk® X6S Tri-Band WiFi Router with MU-MIMO

Can anyone tell me whether it includes the vdsl2 modem or will I need to buy that seperately?

I currently have an old BT type 1 modem with a netgear wnr2200 router. So time to upgrade.

it's a router only

Routing: NETGEAR RAX43 - Firmware: v1.0.11.112 (1 Gbps down, 50 Mbps up)
Switching: 2x NETGEAR 8-ports (GS108v4) / 1x NETGEAR 16-ports (JGS516v2)
Desktop: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X - Server: Intel Core i7-7700K - NAS: Intel Pentium G4400, 20 TB

Scan the forums for this model (R8000P) as there are issues with it.  I have posted a few myself since I just bought it a few weeks ago... and am on the fence on the possibility of returning it.

As @microchip8 says, router only.

@Tiasc makes a good guess that AC4000 means R8000P, but AC4000 is not a Netgear model number. It is a label that Netgear, and others, attach to hardware to describe wifi speeds.

Name a router that doesn't have issues for some people.

The device that gets highest marks around here is the R7800, but that has also caused recent grief for some people, especially Piholers.

Experienced users like to keep modem and router functions separate. Netgear puts more effort into maintaining and updating routers than modem/routers.

If you need a DSL modem, the DM200 is inexpensive. It works fine on BT Infinity, or whatever they call it now.

Anything will be an improvement on the dreaded Homehub. You can't even put the beast into bridge mode.

Just another user.

My network DM200 -> R7800 -> GS316 -> PL1000 -> Orbi RBR40 -> Orbi RBS50Y -> RBS40V
