Mail problem

I can no longer receive or send email using the IMAP server 'mobile.charter.net' using my x6 router on Apple phones and iPads. It worked fine until last week. The message I receive is "Account Error. Cannot get email. The mail server mobile.charter.net is not responding. Verify that you have entered the correct account info in mail settings'. We verified the information is correct. I am able to send and receive email when not connected to this router.  I replaced the x6 with my old Netgear N750 router and mail works fine. Both Apple and Spectrum service advisors say it's a Netgear problem due to IOS 14. Can this be fixed?
