My EX2700 is unusable
I am having a very bad experience with the EX2700. No matter where I setup the device, the extended WiFi connection is unusably slow at 3Mb down and 0.5 up. My direct connection is 150Mb down and 30Mb up. I know extended connection from the ex2700 is supposed to be roughly halved, but I am getting an insane 98% speed loss.
I followed the tutorial completely, setup the 2.4Ghz connection with WPS, plugged the device in and saw a mostly green and amber device light, yet the connection is always reduced by about 98%.
Did I receive a faulty device? I don’t know what else is wrong.

What sits in front of it? A modem and a router? Modem/router?
You have posted your message in the section of this community given over to Nighthawk WiFi Routers. (This is easily done, given Netgear's complicated community structure.)
Many questions apply to different types of device, so there may be useful responses here, but you might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device and problem, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:
WiFi Range Extenders & Nighthawk Mesh - NETGEAR Communities
I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.
In the meantime you could visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.
You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.
