My wifi router keeps disappearing and reappearing!

I have the R7000 and since the new firmware update I have had a problem with the wifi disconnecting and disappearing and then reappearing and reconnecting! Anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it!

I am having the exact same problem, the WiFi will randomly disappear and reconnect 5-10 seconds later. It is a real tedious problem especially because I am unable to play any game online due to the constant disconnect. Thinking about just returning the router. :mad:

HARD RESET the router and manually configure the router

Could you be mores specific about what to configure? There are many bells and whistles, which I suspect a reason most of us purchased it!

I'm having the same issue and it seems to happen pretty randomly but more so when I'm logged into the control panel making changes. There is another thread where someone suggested turning off "Airtime Fairness".

I'm going to try this and I'll report back.

Good way to troubleshoot. Basically, reset your router back to factory defaults, and see if whatever was bothering you is still not working in default mode. Most times, things are fine with all defaults. The exception that occurs to me for this, though, is airtime fairness and beamforming...if the defaults for those are "enabled", disable them and start there. Then configure your settings, and see where things go wrong. If you can identify that setting or combination of settings, whether it's airtime fairness or beamforming, or whatever, then just don't use that feature or setting, and report your issue to Netgear. You can still report your issue to Netgear, but it's more likely to get fixed if you can point to what's causing it for you.

There's other firmware out there to use that most likely has different problems *smile*, in any case.

I also don't configure anything I'm not using ("bells and whistles"), no reason to do that. Just opens you to risks and potential bugs in lesser-used features. That's true of any router or firmware.

Personally, I'm using dd-wrt firmware, but didn't have any problems with the last Netgear firmware I tried (the V1.0.3.49_20140314_ReadyCLOUD interim release that Netgear "leaked" out *smile*). Dd-wrt firmware is working well for me, so I don't have any reason to go back to Netgear firmware at the moment.

Reset button is back of router and you reset

Then reconfigure the router as it was new out of box
