NETGEAR NIGHTHAWK R8000 AC3200 Signal Strength

I work from home and my signal strength looks strong when I first login however will constantly drop to a weak signal rather quickly. I am trying to understand what type of extender/mesh system I should purchase to increase the signal strength. Are the mesh systems compatible with this router? Should I purchase the Nighthawk X3S Tri-band Mesh Extender AC3000 to help improve the signal within the room? Would this be compatible with the mentioned router? Apologies in advance as I have no idea about this stuff.

What modem do you have it connected to?

What firmware do you have on the router?

What speeds do you pay for?

What speeds do you get hardwired in?

In the location where you're working, what speeds do you get on wifi?

are you testing over 2.4ghz or 5ghz?

About the only one I can comment on is the speeds I pay for which is 300Mbps and the firmware version V1.0.4.68_10.1.75. The signal strength on my Cisco VPN connection will appear strong for a few mins but weaken to next to nothing as I work so I was thinking I needed an extender since the strength was a problem.

If you're set you need an extender, nothing I say will change it.

feel free to buy an extender. I'd recommend the triband extenders.

Not saying its going to help though
