NEW R 7000 Firmware R7000-V1.0.3.60_1.1.27

Link:
ftp://downloads.netgear.com/r7000/us/R7000-V1.0.3.60_1.1.27.chk

Just installed, first test was to stream hi-def audio from my server wirelessly and on another computer d/l a 2 gb file from the same server (all wirelessly). This always resulted in stuttering of my audio stream with every firmware to date. This firmware FIXES this!

Netgear thank you.......

Re: NEW R 7000 Firmware R7000-V1.0.3.60_1.1.27

Just installed it via router update. Can't be any worse for me than previous that meant I was only using 2.$ with no guest in an attempt to get some stability of connections.

I'll be anxious to see if any of the folks having wired/wireless problems load this.

I'm sorry but isn't this already in a previous thread?

Re: NEW R 7000 Firmware R7000-V1.0.3.60_1.1.27

This firmware just came out. The other thread is for the .56 version, this is .60

I just updated because the wireless disconnect issue and WiFi <-> LAN traffic issue are still present in the .56 firmware.

This morning I wanted to browse the net from my cell phone and it was no longer able to connect to the local WiFi. Usually I reboot the router, but I logged in from a wired PC and saw the new firmware available. Once installed the router restarted so obviously my WiFi worked again. Now it is a "wait and see" thing. Hopefully this will at least fix the WiFi from not connecting and in a best case scenario will fix the loss of WiFi <-> LAN traffic.

Unfortunately, this is the same version that was discovered earlier, and doesn't have the Comcast IPv6 fixes. Still waiting for an official release with those fixes, then. Too bad.

Re: NEW R 7000 Firmware R7000-V1.0.3.60_1.1.27

The problem may not be a Comcast only IPV6 issue, but most who have posted here looking for answers have Comcast.

The problem is when IPV6 is enabled, If you reboot or Power cycle router in will NOT get an IPV4 or IPV6 and release renew don't work. Unless you power cycle Modem. It also reverts to 6 to 4 tunneling and IOS devices and some other handhelds don't get IPV6.

This and the usage meter counting LAN as WAN have been confirmed as Bugs and should be addressed in next Official Update. The R6300v2 suffers from similar Bug too, Not sure what their plan is for it.

If you search IPV6 on this forum you should find plenty of post regarding IPV6. It's been a known problem for years and is finally getting attention.

@searay: I thought you said in .61 it was fixed? (However, .61 did seem to have beamforming issues.)

The issues that I was having with Comcast IPv6 were as searay mentioned above. When I had to reboot or power-cycle my router with IPv6 enabled, when it came back up it would have no internet connection. And when my desktop and laptop computers were able to use IPv6, neither my Android phone or iPad could.

With the current debug firmware that I'm using, both of these problems are now fixed. Unfortunately, the fixes were too late to make it into the latest official release. Should make it next time.

.61 doesn't seem to exists anymore, so it's a moot point at this time. sorry if I confused the issue.

Re: NEW R 7000 Firmware R7000-V1.0.3.60_1.1.27

Thanks for posting about the IPv6 bug, guys - I thought I was going crazy. I'm on Time Warner and after a power outage a couple weeks ago I could not get the R7000 back online for the life of me, and of course their support line was busy forever so I gave up and reinstalled my previous router. Apparently it's not just a Comcast problem.

Last night I dug out the R7000 and put dd-wrt on it and it's working well so far. But now I know to try the Netgear code again once it's updated again. Thanks!

There are a couple of ways to get the R7000 back online when this happens. One is to reset your modem. The other is to pull the WAN cable off the back of your router for 15 seconds or so, and then plug it back in. Sounds strange, but it worked for me.

Re: NEW R 7000 Firmware R7000-V1.0.3.60_1.1.27

I hope this resolves the dropped wifi issue. I've been dealing with netgear support for three months now. Its getting old. Routers should just sit there, not require constant attention.

Re: NEW R 7000 Firmware R7000-V1.0.3.60_1.1.27

Hi all. I've been using the R7000 in my pub for around a month and was rebooting it at least once a day to maintain LAN/WiFi connections (printers/iPad tills/Verifone VX680). Since the update though all seems well! Early days I know but this is the most stable it's been so far. Thought I'd let you know:)

That's definitely good news. Hopefully Xerses has a similar report.

It would be really nice if this issue was finally fixed.

Re: NEW R 7000 Firmware R7000-V1.0.3.60_1.1.27

Spoke too soon sadly. Our primary iPad till gradually lost printers throughout the day, the slave till lost one printer about lunch time and our HP Officejet lost all connection around an hour ago. A router reboot has restored all connections. Will factory reset and re-flash tonight and report back. Damn.

Re: NEW R 7000 Firmware R7000-V1.0.3.60_1.1.27

So far the V1.0.3.61_20140605_QA firmware I have installed works well. I haven't lost my connections like I had been.

Although I did have my printer not using wireless due to other reasons. But I'll try turning that back on and see if it has problems.
