NIGHTHAWK R7000 - loosing connection

Hi, Our nighthawk router will be on and working fine and then it will suddenly lose connection. If I unplug the router for 30 seconds it will come back on. We have two different internet providers. Both showed that the internet was working but for some reason the router just loss the signal or quit communicating. Any thoughts? Thanks, Angie

What firmware version does your router have?

Re: NIGHTHAWK R7000 - loosing connection

Is it disconnecting for both wired and wireless connections?

Will the router reboot by itself when it disconnect? What lights are turned on when you experience the problem?

Re: NIGHTHAWK R7000 - loosing connection

The wired and wireless disconnect.

The router does not reboot by itself. I have to turn it off and then turn it on.

All of the lights are still on.

Re: NIGHTHAWK R7000 - loosing connection

Do you have the latest firmware installed on your router?

If you have, did you factory reset the router after firmware update?

Which ISP is connected to the router?

If it's cable, I suggest that you follow the configuration provided in this link

Re: NIGHTHAWK R7000 - loosing connection

I did a clean install, prior and after the install factory resets. Elaine, the newest firmware IS precisely the reason why I'm having this problem. Therefore, I am now running a prior version just so I don't have this issue. I haven't had a single issue with any of the firmware versions up until this.

What's the current firmware version you're running?

And it's happening on wired connection, right?

Re: NIGHTHAWK R7000 - loosing connection

I suggest that you try to reflash the firmware and follow the reset instructions below.

1. With the unit powered on, press and hold the reset button on the back of unit for 30seconds.

2. Without releasing the reset button, unplug the unit and hold reset for another 30 seconds.

3. Power on the unit while STILL pushing the reset button and count for another 30 seconds before letting it go.

Re: NIGHTHAWK R7000 - loosing connection

Elaine,

I appreciate the help, but I'm way beyond that. I've done the necessary factory resets(prior to and after installation). I'll just wait till some newer firmware versions comes out.
