Need help configuring my Nighthawk R8000 when connected to my Comcast router.
I curently have a Comcast xFi modem/WIFI router. I also have a Nighthawk R8000 Smart Wifi router that I connect to the Comcast modem as an extender. I have not made any configuration changes to the Nighthawk and my WIFI keeps droping or becoming unstable. Is there a specific way I should have the Nighthawk configured to work with the Comcast router and could this be causing a problem beterrn the two devices if not setup correctly.
Thanks
Dave

There are two ways, either of which should solve the problems which
you can experience when cascading multiple routers.
1. Leave the xFi as a modem+router, and cripple the R8000. Visit
http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look for
Documentation. Get the User Manual. Read. Look for "Use the Router as
a Wireless Access Point". For a list of router features which this
method disables, see:
2. Cripple the xFi by putting it into modem-only ("bridge") mode, and
use the R8000 as your only router.
https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/wireless-gateway-enable-disable-bridge-mode
If you're using the R8000 to extend, not replace, the xFi wireless
stuff, then you probably wouldn't like method 2, because it disables the
wireless access point in the xFi, leaving only the R8000 wireless stuff.
