Need to change settings to accept double NAT

My ISP is simply bits and i have a straight router no modem or gateway just a router. For my Xbox I have a double NAT and its moderate its also wired. I have contacted my isp and they simply said i need to change settings in the router for it to accecpt a double NAT if even thats possible. I hav emade some settings to try to get a open NAT like adding the 6 ports in portforwarding but to change my NAT i need to change my double NAT.

Presumably, the WAN/Internet port on the router is connected to
something.  What is it?

Is that accurate?  (Not "R6700v2", ...?)  Firmware version?

That makes no sense to me.  The router doesn't care about "double
NAT"; your Xbox does.

> [...] I have a double NAT [...]

Generally, that means that you have cascaded multiple routers.  You
need to locate/identify the other one, and disable its NAT router
functions (somehow).

Alternatively, you'd need to disable the router functions in your
router, which may or may not be a good idea.

In the web-browser interface to the R6700, what does ADVANCED >
ADVANCED Home : Internet Port : Internet IP Address say?  (The first two
octets of your public IP address ("a.b" out of "a.b.c.d") will do, if
you don't want to reveal the whole thing.)

Re: Need to change settings to accept double NAT

The router is connected to a tiny black box that simply bits likes to call a poi a point of intress were the router WAN connects to, that leads to another cable that gets the signal from the satilite dish on our roof.  The version i have is the r6700v2. I dont fully understand on the fix part of my ip and what i need to give you to help me fix it. Only reason i want the double NAT fixed is so i can have my NAT type on open so i can play with my friends who have a striceted NAT type.

So, your R6700v2 is connected to a whole pile of mysterious
equipment, and your description of "no modem or gateway" might not be
justified.

   Still wondering.

   I don't know what's involved in your Internet-by-satellite hardware,
but if you're getting complaints about "double NAT", then it would
appear that there's another NAT router involved somewhere.  If you don't
answer the questions, then there's not much I can to to determine what
to do next.

   Answer the question?  What's unclear?

heres a thing if this will help

Satilite>Poi>Router> pc and xbox  the poi doesnt have anything its just a black box to transfer the WAN cable to a cable to lead to the satilitie it has no settings or options to do anything with it.

172.16 is the first two numbers of my ip if thats what you need.

"172.16.x.y" is a private address, not a public address, which means
that there must be another router somewhere between you and the
Internet.  You may need to get some advice from your ISP.

Re: Need to change settings to accept double NAT

I have been looking into this problem a lot recently

"172.16.x.y" is a private address, not a public address, which means
that there must be another router somewhere between you and the
Internet.  You may need to get some advice from your ISP.

172.16 is the ip from my static ip my ip that i have is 64.119

and what my router connects to is a psa 15 m-300ap or a switching power supply then leads up to a satilittle. But i cant fiqure out what else is giving my xbox a double NAT neither of the other two devieces (from my knowledge at least) perform NAT functions
