A lot depends on how you set it up and what you are doing.

Your message provides no useful information to diagnose what is happening.

You can help people to help you by providing the information suggested in this forum's header:

Subject (Include model number and brief summary)
Model (Recommended - Helps the community give the best answers)
Body (Include additional detail including model version, firmware, OS and environment where relevant.)

They are there for a good reason.

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

WiFi Range Extenders & Nighthawk Mesh - NETGEAR Communities

You might like to search there for messages related to your problem.

I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.

Check for various troubleshooting tips.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

Re: Net gear range extender EX6150v2

The EX6150v2 is a mesh extender. Meaning if you set it up using the default configuration, it'll setup in mesh.

That means it'll use the same exact ssid/password as your primary router and allow devices to roam between it and the router (and the 2x bands) as needed based on their own protocol.

If you prefer to manually manage this, you can.
