"can[']t" is not a useful problem description.  It does not say what
you did.  It does not say what happened when you did it.  As usual,
showing actual actions with their actual results (error messages, LED
indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague descriptions or
interpretations.

> [...] I get a security certificate warning [...]

The actual message might be more helpful than your interpretation of
it.  If your browser is complaining because it's worried about your
sending some user credentials over an unencrypted/insecure link
("http://" instead of "https://"), then the easy thing to do is ignore
the warning, and proceed.  Presumably, you're talking to your own gizmo
on your own LAN.  If someone can overlisten to that traffic, then you're
already in big trouble.

> [...] I can[']t login to Router Login in NetGear Genie.. [...]

Which "NetGear Genie"?  Ever helpful, Netgear uses the name "Genie"
for more than one thing.  Netgear routers have a web-browser interface
called "Genie", and Netgear offers application programs for various
computers/pads/phones, which are also called "Genie".

I'd stick with the web-browser interface, and ignore the "insecure"
warning.

Note: "cant" is a word, different from "can't".

Tried a different browser? Do you have anti-virus software that might be blocking you?

If it says that the password is wrong, you may have to reset the thing to its factory state so that you can use the default password.

If you want more help you'll have to tell people what the device is, the model number.

Just another user.

Re: NetGear Genie

the model is AC1900 Smart WiFi Router Model R7000. The Genie for this either says Lohin Password failed (its the default "admin" password") or the router timed out. Trying a browser to comuincate with the router, and Ive tried three different ones, it I get a security certificate warning and I cant ignore it because it doesnt allow me to proceed and farther....unless there is a method I dont know about.

   How, exactly?

   Namely?

I'd infer that there is such a method, because I have no such
trouble.  (Firefox and Safari on Mac, typically, but I believe Firefox
on Windows, too.)
