Netgear NightHawk AX4 RAX40 Change LAN IP in Advanced Settings Does Not Work - Conflict

I just bought a Netgear Nighthawk AX4 RAX40 WiFi Router and am having an issue with changing the LAN IP address.

I have a LAN in my home and the IP is 192.168.0.x. The new router LAN IP is 192.168.1.1 so the 3rd octet needs to be changed so I can manage it from my home computers.

I can access the router directly from my phone (192.168.1.1) and login fine. When I go to Advanced, then Setup, then LAN, I change the LAN IP and try to Save it, says I have a conflict with the WAN Subnet. When I change the WAN setting, says I have a conflict with the LAN IP.

I have also tried the Netgear APP and don't see a way to do this through the APP?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What modem/gateway do you have?
You're more than likely running a double nat.

A double nat happens when you cascade more than 1 router.

Fixes? There’s 3 options but only use 1.
1. Put the modem/gateway in modem only/pass through mode. This disables its routing functions.
2. Leave the modem/gateway in router mode but put the Netgears IP address into its DMZ. This forwards the data to the netgear. You can either leave the modem/gateway’s wireless enabled or disabled. Just make sure its using a different wifi channel to prevent interference
3. Put the Netgear into access point mode. This disables its routing functions. Wifi/ethernet still works but it does disable some features.

Option 3 is probably the best option for you if you want everything on the same subnet.

You cannot have both routers on the same subnet. If you put the RAX40 on 192.168.0.x, it'll broadcast, just like your first router, DHCP and DNS which will conflict with the first router. As plemans said, one of the routers is best set to Access Point mode

Thanks for your replies.

I changed it ti AP mode and it is working fine, but I still need to be able to login to adjust some of the settings that I don't find on the Android App on my phone.

How can I change the LAN IP Setting so I can see the device on my network?

log into your primary router and look at its attached devices list. It should list the AP router's ip address. Use that address to access it.
