Netgear Nighthawk AC 1700 QOS Trouble
I've had this wonderful router for quite some time and had maybe the least trouble of any router hardware in my life with this guy to date. Just last week I finally updated the Firmware to V188.8.131.52_1.2.15 from a quite old Firmware I believe was around 1.0.4? I stopped regular updates due to one of the releases being reported as bricking some peoples routers. Anyways, this update is significant obviously but it did manage to port over my previous settings, which are fairly significant. Since this update, when QOS is enabled I go from 50 Mbps down to a pitiful 3-4 Mbps down. I've tried various configurations in the new QOS GUI to no avail. The obvious thing to do here is reset to defaults and reconfigure my settings. I'm a little lazy, but will certainly do so but wanted to pre-qualify that perhaps QOS has been wonky for the last few updates perhaps before going this extra mile re-doing my configuration.
Also, if I were to export my settings, reset and re-import as that just as well or will some coding parameters from the previous firmwares come accross??
