Netgear Nighthawk R7000 before a professional security camera install, how many ports?

We are getting a professional security camera installation, hardwired to a DVR in the house. The alarm company also will install an app on our phones so we can see the camera in realtime whereever we are.
They asked me to make sure my router has "3 open ports that we can access for live video feed." By this, I'm assuming they mean port forwarding? Or these are "game" ports that can be access remotely?
Does the R7000 have 3 ports that I can access? If not, which router do I need to buy? Thanks!

They most likely mean port forwarding, and the R7000 supports it. A port in this context is literally a number between 0 and 65535. Most of them are unused, so pick any 3, though it's usually safer to avoid anything below 1024. You could pick, for example, 2000, 2001 and 2002. You would then enter them into the port forwarding configuration on the R7000. Then you would reference them with the phone app. Typically, you would enter your public IP address and the port number. Sometimes the IP address and port number are combined, like 65.66.67.68:2000 to reach camera 1, 65.66.67.68:2001 to reach camera 2, etc. It depends on the app.
