Netgear R7000 Hissing under wireless load

I've noticed that my R7000 has a hissing sound when the wifi is under heavy load, what would be my options? (as my warranty is out of date)

I've tried to contact RMA and they've pretty much told me to send my router in (at my own cost) + I don't have a backup router.

Make sure you're using the 3.5 amp Power Adapter. Set Mode(s) no faster than clients. I would suggest trying the latest FW because it allows you to lower output but it's riddled with other bugs. If not using 1300 on 5g try a different channel.

Tried with no luck, the hissing sound seems to be something to do with the capacitors used. Oh wells, I guess i'll just have to stick with it until I find a new router.

Netgear's RMA process is silly, making me pay to not have a router for a week

That sound is called coil hum and is annoying but harmless and does not affect performance. Why some routers do it and others don't is anyone's guess if it bothers you that bad try for a RMA or try a different router that's about all you can do.
