Netgear R7000 V1.0.7.6_1.1.99 keeps losing internet connection

Hello,

I've a Netgear R7000 V1.0.7.6_1.1.99.

I've the router for one year and all has always worked fine till two days ago.

From now on, after few hours of usage the router loses internet connection and it's not enough to restart it, I've to keep off the internet cable, reinsert it and then restart the device.

I'm living in Italy and my ISP is Eolo/NGI, that gives web services through radio connection.

I've already tried to reset the router, but the problem is still there.

Any suggestion?

Welcome to the community, @nymeria

Try to bypass the router by connecting your PC straight to your modem.

Observe if you will get disconnected. In this way, you can isolate whether if it's the ISP or the NETGEAR.

If your connection is stable, change the cable between the modem and the router.

By the way, are you experiencing disconnection on wired, wireless or both?

Thanks for your reply.

I've already tried to change the cable between the modem and the router.

The wireless is ok (I see the router through my pc and I can login into the admin panel using my browser), the problem is the wired connection between the router and the modem.

If I connect the Pc directly to the modem it works, but honestly I didn't yet try to stay connected many hours..

I've a doubt: is it possible the router loses the connection with the modem when it happens a little loss of electrical power?

It's possible that the problem is with the router but I advise that you test the connection for hours to verify.

Losing electrical power could be one but do you notice if the router reboots?

There are a lot of factors to check on this issue. It could also be the power adapter.

You may try to use a different power adapter with the same specs to check.
