My Netgear router has worked well for the past 2 years. However it suddenly will not connect to my modem and all even with an ethernet cable connecting them it does a short boot sequence and then stops giving an amber light on the power and a white light on the wifi. All others are dark. Any help on fixing it would be greatly appreciated, as power cycling and factory resetting are doing nothing.

Potentially it could be a couple things. 

1. power supply. You could try a different power supply. If you have one that has matching voltage and AT LEAST the same amperage, you can use that. they're tough to test becuase there isn't a way to put a power supply under load for the average user. 

2. it could be a corrupt firmware issue. Potentially you could fix it with tftp or nmrpflash.

3. It could be a bad firmware version. If you're able to flash it, you can always try an earlier version of the firmware. 

4. It could be a hardware failure. Sadly it does happen.

are you able to access the gui at all? sorry, should have asked this first before going on to the other potentials

I am unable to access anything it is almost as if my router doesn't exist. It is registered but because of it being bought 2 years ago the warranties are expired. I cannot access routerlogin either.

Am I able to do that on an android mobile phone? My laptop currently is out of commission.

tftp and nmrpflash need to be hardwired into to use. As far as I know, its windows/mac only.
