Netgear X65 no connection to router?
My extender is misbehaving! It’s performance is sporadic and keeps losing 5G despite the LED being lit. It also has no router connection LED but it is working. I’ve tried a soft reset and it’s the sam...

What firmware version are you on?
What router are you connecting to?
do you have a screen snip of the extenders status page?
what are the interior walls of your home made of?
How far from the router is the extender and how many walls inbetween?
Have you tried changing which channels the router uses for the backhaul?

Hi Thanks for the reply. What firmware version are you on? v1.0.1.232 What router are you connecting to? Asus Asus RT-AC66U AC1750 do you have a screen snip of the extenders status page? From the app? see attached what are the interior walls of your home made of? stone and its thick, BUT the extender has worked amazingly well for almost a year and this is only a recent problem How far from the router is the extender and how many walls inbetween? one wall and its about 5metres Have you tried changing which channels the router uses for the backhaul? I don't know how to do that. Having looked at the app, there doesnt seem to be a config option It seems confusing (to me) that the extender is saying it is not connected to the router (no LED) but the extender is working-ish. Wondering if it needs a complete factory reset, although when I did that on one occasion, it refused to connect 5G backhaul which took an age to resolve. I don't want that to happen again obviously. Thanks again.

5ghz doesn't penetrate as well as 2.4ghz. and it doesn't broadcast as far. So the 2.4ghz might be connecting through the stone but not the 5ghz.
The status page that shows you connections is what I'm curious about. I attached what mine looks like to compare with.
I use the lower channels for my backhaul and the higher for my fronthaul. But if you have a stone wall in between I'd recommend switching it. Reason why is the higher channels have the wider/better connection. 1733mbps versus 866mbps.
It'd be something you change on the router for which channels it broadcasts on for the extender to connect to.
