New router cannot be found
My old router is starting to fail and I am trying to hook up a new one through the Nighthawk app. I follow all the steps and then when it searches for the router it tells me it cannot be found. I have tried multiple times.
Do I need to delete the old device from the app first?

Re: New router cannot be found
Don't use stupid apps to set up a router. Use its Web UI at http://routerlogin.net or http://192.168.1.1

Re: New router cannot be found
Just following exactly what it says on the router box and directions itself

As @microchip8 says, avoid the apps wherever possible.
What are you trying to connect your R6080 to? The modem make and model?
Manuals are always a good place to start.
Visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
That page will also have any software, firmware and drivers for your device, if they exist.
Look for the model number on the label on the device.
Begin with the Quick Start/Installation Guide.
You may have done that already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear gave up on supplying paper manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.
