Newbie AP question - same SSID?
Sorry for the newbie question - I have a Nighthawk X10 R9000 as my primary router and a Nighthawk RAX80 acting as an Access Point (yes, I know the RAX should be the router since it's newer but it just doesn't work as well - long story). I have a ton of experience with routers but not when being used as Access Points - if my primary router is broadcasting an SSID of WIRELESS24 for the 2.4Ghz should the Access Point also use the same SSID - the idea being my wireless devices will just pickup on the router or AP that makes most sense? Or do I need a different SSID for the Access Point - like WIRELESS24AP?

I know nothing, but why not run the experiment, and see what goes
wrong? Start with the most convenient scheme, and add inconvenience as
In any case, you should probably try to arrange that the two gizmos
use different radio channels (for each band), to avoid interference.
You might get lucky with automatic channel selection by each gizmo, but
manually selecting the radio channels might be more reliable. (Avoid
your neighbors' radios, too, of course.)
