Nexus 7 (2013) tablet wifi connection issues

We just installed a Netgear R7000 (Nighthawk AC1900) router and are having issues with our Nexus 7 wifi connection. All other devices: Samsung Galaxy S5, S4, Samsung F8000 TV, PS4 etc. work perfectly. The Nexus 7 tablet, however, does not. Web pages take up to 30 seconds to load. Facebook takes a long time to update the feed, as well as images taking a long time to load.

When I click on the wifi connection all signs seem good. Here's a snapshot:

I have done the following to try and solve the problem to no avail:
Router reboot
Forget the wifi connection and connect again
Tried connecting to either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz band
Factory reset the Nexus 7

I opened a wifi hotspot using my Galaxy S5 and connected the tablet. Everything worked perfectly, no delays in running any app or opening any webpage. Really confused right now. Any help would be appreciated.

Snapshot didn't load, but shows good signal strength as well as connection speed.

Sounds odd.

No problem here with Nexus 7 (2013) running 5.0.1
