Night Hawk R8000 Blocking *.MIL Web Sites

Cannot access ANY *.MIL web sites using home wifi.  All other domains are accessible (including *.GOV).  I've been able to access *.MIL sites since 1999.  This JUST STARTED the evening of 10 June 21.  There are NO restrictions in my router, network, browswers, etc.  NO MATTER the device, if it's connected to my home wifi, I cannot connect to *.MIL web sites.  ALL devices will connect if I'm NOT using my home wifi.

Suggestions?

You have the R8000?

What firmware is on it?

What modem/gateway are you connecting it to?

Have you tried a different dns provider? you can try googles at 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4  or cloudfare at 1.1.1.1

Yeah good luck with this, please let me know if you find anything.  I just called Netgear and despite this being an obvious issue on their end, they wanted to charge me for support on it.  Pretty sure I'll be switching back to Motorola.

I disabled the IPV4 Firewall protection and that got them working again.  Will see for how long.

Hey, so above.  Go into the router setting and disable the routers Firewall settings.  They did change something, likely in an effort to get people who want it fixed to pay for it.  That has worked for me so far.  If they change something else I will just get a new router.  This will definately be my last Netgear product for sure though.  Them trying to charge us to fix a problem they made is actually criminal.

"Cannot" is not a useful problem description.  It does not say what
you did.  It does not say what happened when you did it.  As usual,
showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results (error
messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
descriptions or interpretations.

".mil", like any other domain, is a DNS entity, of no real interest
to the router, once it has been used to get the actual corresponding IP
address.

Your DNS server(s) might be having a problem with that top-level
domain, but the router is involved in that only to the extent that
that's where you specify your DNS server(s).

It's far from "obvious" to me.

> I disabled the IPV4 Firewall protection [...]

I don't know what that means.  "disabled" _what_, _how_, exactly?

Perhaps when you explain where and what, ...

> [...] They did change something, [...]

Yeah, yeah; sure, sure.  Any actual evidence would be welcome.  Even
a clear description of anything might help some.

What Firewall setting?

There are none that I can see.

Thanks for the picture.  I don't see that item in the R8000 User
Manual.  Now the only mystery is what it does (and why).
