Landline not working

Hi, I have recently had the NBN connected, I am using a Netgear Nighthawk D7800 modem/router, wireless internet is fine; however, the landline won't work unless I use the Telstra Gateway modem. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you.

The D7800 does not have support for landline phones you may need to use the Telstra modem and bridge it to the D7800 to use as a router.

Thank you for your reply. Can you tell me how I bridge the Telstra modem to the D7800? Please. I'm not very tech savvy, so any help you can give me is much appreciated.
